It's a long story but i will try to make it short as possible.
My partner has had Clubla Costa shares for about ten years,and we have had some great holiday,s because of them.But now the maintenance has risen to £1500 a year and going up every year and is now not worth paying.
When the points were purchased for about £10 each she was told they were an investment and would rise in value a lot each year.Now she want.s to sell them they are worth nothing,people can,t even give them away.What a con.
Two years ago we went to a meeting(Free Breakfast)and we were told of a great opportunity to buy a place in Turkey which would pay for it,s self .It was a resell £118,000. We said it looked a great deal but could not afford it.
So the deal was if we buy some more points for £5,000 they would buy them back for£10,000 and with what we had to put down we would only need a mortgage for £60,000 which they would get for us guaranteed,they would rent it out and we would get enough money to pay the mortgage for two years.We said that no way on our joint income would we get a mortgage.
They promised we would.
We put a £2400 deposit down and waited for the solicitor that they recommended would get a mortgage for use.A year later no mortgage as they promised,so we lost the £2400 deposit and £5000 for points we did not want.After lots of rows with them we got the £5000 back but not the £2400.Last month we went on holiday and complained about the lost £2400 plus £3000 that i had lost because i cancelled some insurance policy's to pay the down payment.Plus we said we could not afford the maintenance next year.What we got offered was a real con.Buy more points and get the £2400 taken off and £1200 put in our bank account to help with the maintenance.
If we had said yes we would have had more points that are worth nothing,more maintenance to pay next year,and to cap it all over £9000 in dept to them for the points.
They are con artists avoid them like the plaque.]I will write more when i calm down.
Not a member anymore,they wanted over £1,500 for maintenance.
We will pay a member to holiday in their apartments for an agreed price,usually about £300 a fortnight.
They will be happy to get some money for their maintenance and we can still stay in the places we like.
That's a saving of £1,200,and can use it for more holidays.
We have now given our points back to them,we are certainly not the only one,s.
We were invited to breakfast,which normal.
They say it's not to sell us anything but all they want you to do is sell you more point's.
As son as we said we were going to give the points back breakfast was cancelled.
More than ten year's with them and thousand's of pounds spent they never had the courtesy to say goodbye with a meal,money is ther only intrest no matter what they tell you.
We will still nave holiday's at there resort's because they are good,but we will save a fortune
not having point's and very high maintenance to pay.
We will get invited to breakfast which we will have for free and not buy anything.
It will cost about £40,000 plus £2,000 a year just for their basic plans,and they wont care how you get the money or if you can afford it,they will try every trick in the book to get you to sign up.
Please avoid do not sign anything,there are plenty of great holiday,s out there and at a fraction of the price you will pay if you join Club La Costa.
They will even say you can pass the point's to your children.
Do you realy want to burden them with a huge dept that they poberly cannot afford.
As i have said this company will cheat you,lie ,rob and swindle every penny they can from you .
